I have woken up for the past three days really sore and just feeling like a bus hit me. I am sore down my right side. The worst part of it all is my neck. I think I pulled a muscle. I can’t turn my head to the left. I have taken an Aleve to help with the pain. It took the pain from throbbing and burning to just a tight and sore feeling. Brandon also went through this days ago. I think its time to invest into some new pillows.

The more I look at Facebook the more I find people creating photography pages and starting up businesses. Everyday I find a new one in my area. Whats annoying is most of them aren’t of professional quality.
I even met one of them and she’d never even used M, AV, TV modes. She told me that she stays on the easy side. Her photos are ok. She has good ideas. I can tell she’s using the kit lens. I stood there and explained to her some of the settings and told her that there is information all over the internet on using your camera on the “hard side.” I then showed her my 50 1.8 II lens and told her that it is best for portrait photography. I explained to her that it was a prime, meaning that it didn’t zoom. I showed how you zoom with your feet instead. Then I told her that you can get a new one for one $130 or less. Then I told her that if she had about $400 she could get the 50 1.4 USM for better focusing. She had no idea of all of this. Then she told me that she does photos of people for money. All I could think was “Seriously? Don’t do that to people! Learn your camera!!!!” I just smiled and said “cool.”
Now I keep finding ones and all the photos they have are just plain awful! Not in focus and not exposed right. It seems people love them anyway…which is CRAZY!
I know that I am no professional but I feel that I’m pretty close. I know my camera has never been on the “easy side” the past ten months that I’ve owned it. Nor did my XT the nine months I had it. I learn more every time I use it. I feel that I’ve learned how to expose right and I’ve learned my focus and not to let the camera choose that for me. I feel that I can fully control my camera.

October 9th 2007: Landun’s new word
Landun learned a new word: bitch.
The other week we were at Wal-mart looking at halloween costumes and this was said:
Mikayla: For halloween, I want to be a witch.
Landun: I want to be a bitch!
Last night he called Chris and I a bitch. He must’ve heard Chris say the word, because I never curse, unless on accident. It was funny to hear him say the word the first few times. We keep telling him not to say it again.
I hate when a kid does something funny, but its also something that will get them into trouble. We have to correct them and hold our laughter. Kinda hard to do.
