Hello my name is Tonaka, that rhymes with Monica. I was born and raised in the Carolinas. Home is a small town in the upstate South Carolina. I am part Native American Catawba Indian part something else. I just recently turned 30. I’m not finding 30 to be so bad!
I was born visually impaired and because something didn’t grow right in my right eye I am blind in it. I also have two different colored eyes…one green…one brown.
I am a mom of two. My first child was born on January 24th 2002. Her name is Mikayla. She is a very bubbly and cheerful nine year old. My second child was born on December 10th 2004. His name is Landun. He is a really sensitive boy with a big heart.
My favorite hobby is photography. Someday I hope to become a professional photographer. I have the knowledge but I am way too shy. Hoping to get over that real soon! I have done one job as a photographer. I shot a very small wedding last June. I guess the best way to overcome my shyness is to just jump in! You can read more about my love of photography here.
My other love is Web Design. I have been creating websites since 1999. I did it constantly from 1999 til 2008. I took a three year break. I am just now getting back into it. I have a lot to re-learn! I started out making website for my favorite music artists. Then in 2001 I was introduced to blogging so I started my own blog. My first domain was Sweet-Dreamz.net. I am self taught. I believe that hand coding is the best way.
I love music. I listen to country and pop the most. My favorite singers include: Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Sara Evans, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, and many many more. Within the past two years I have attended two concerts; Tim McGraw “Southern Voice” tour in July of 2010 and Taylor Swift “Speak Now World Tour” in November 2011. Both concerts were really awesome and I hope to attend them again someday.
